LANCASHIRE JUNIOR RUGBY COMPETITIONS
Principles
- Lancashire RFU provides competitive Age Grade rugby competitions for the participation of club teams throughout the county and the enjoyment of players of all abilities.
- The goal of Lancashire County Junior Rugby competitions is to encourage and promote aspiration, pride in acheivement and opportunty for all.
- All players and clubs participating in the Lancashire Junior Challenge and Waterfall competitions must adhere to the player-centred Codes of practice as set out by the RFU and observe the RFU’s core values of TEAMWORK, RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, DISCIPLINE, SPORTSMANSHIP.
- All fixtures are played throughout the structured Age Grade season in accordance with the RFU Age Grade Regulations.
- Rugby is equitable and inclusive. The half game rule must be observed to ensure everyone in the match day squad gets to play at least half of the game time available.
- Players playing out of Age Grade must have approved dispensation prior to them playing.
- Fixtures are to be played on the dates and times specified on the competition website.
- Lancashire Rugby Junior Results are updated and published on the competition website throughout the season to allow players, parents and coaches keep track of the progress of their team.
- For U12 and U13 the season culminates in two end of season festival days organised by the Lancashire Junior Rugby Committee.
- For U14, U15 and U16 the season reaches a climax with teams competing in finals for the Lancashire Development Cup, Bowl, Vase, Plate and Cup.
Competition Structure
U12
- Under 12s are grouped in four pools based on the provided coach fair indicator information.
- Scheduled fixtures to be played on designated weekends throughout the season as published on the competition website.
- Results collated throughout the season and published on competition website Lancashire Rugby Junior Results
- End of season festival days organised by the Lancashire Junior Rugby Committee, with teams grouped together based on recorded results throughout the season.
U13
- Under 13s are grouped in four pools based on the recorded results from previous season's under 12s competition combined with coach fair indicator information.
- Scheduled fixtures to be played on designated weekends throughout the season as published on the competition website.
- Results collated throughout the season and published on competition website Lancashire Rugby Junior Results
- Playoff fixture to be played at the end of the season between the teams finishing in the top four of each group to determine the final top four positions, with teams grouped together based on recorded results throughout the season.
U14, U15, U16
- Under 14s, Under 15s and Under 16s teams compete for Cup, Plate, Vase, Bowl & Development Cup.
- Five separate pools, based on recorded results from previous season competition, along with coach fair indicator information.
- Scheduled pool game fixtures to be played on designated weekends throughout the season as published on the competition website, before progressing through to knock out rugby.
- Results collated throughout the season and published on competition website Lancashire Junior Rugby Results
- Finals for the Development Cup, Bowl, Vase, Plate and Lancashire Cup to be played at the end of the season.
