TAKE PART

University Rugby is governed in England by the Students' RFU (SRFU), an RFU affiliated body responsible for the development and governance of Student Rugby. The SRFU works in partnership with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) to provide competition, support and resources for university rugby players, clubs, and institutions, fostering a safe, inclusive environment.

University Rugby Clubs are often amongst the most socially active groups on campus and typically offer a range of teams, for men and women, to accomodate different levels of playing ability, as well as links with local clubs to provide opportunities to play as regualrly or occassionally as you would like.  You can find more details on University Rugby here https://www.englandrugby-unis.com/

SUPPORT

This UNIVERSITY KITBAG provides information and resources for students to support rugby union in thier university.

REGISTRATION

All players in England are required to register annually on GMS (Game Management System) to play rugby for RFU member clubs.  Rugby players at universities should create a GMS account, if they do not already have one, as an adult player can not be selected on an EMC (Electronic Match Card) unless they are registered on GMS.  If you played rugby at university last season or played club rugby in the past, you will likely have a GMS account already. Help and support can be found on this link https://www.englandrugby-unis.com/player-registration-guidance

To encourage players to continue playing rugby whilst at University, the RFU Student Pass was introduced to enable students to be simultaneously registered with two clubs (your home club and your University club). To qualify the Player needs to upload their Student ID or proof of enrolment to their GMS profile. Your club registrar can support you with this.
